**Kielbasa and Cabbage Sauté with Poppy Seeds**
### Ingredients:
- 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
- 2 green bell peppers, sliced into thin strips
- 1 kielbasa (Polish sausage), sliced into rounds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: 1 small onion, sliced thin (for extra flavor)
### Instructions:
1. **Prepare the Vegetables**:
- Chop the cabbage into bite-sized pieces.
- Slice the green bell peppers into strips.
- (Optional) Thinly slice the onion for added flavor.
2. **Cook the Kielbasa**:
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil or butter over medium heat.
- Add the sliced kielbasa and sauté for 5-7 minutes, until browned and slightly crispy. Once done, remove the kielbasa from the skillet and set it aside.
3. **Steam the Cabbage and Peppers**:
- In the same skillet, add the cabbage and green peppers (and onions, if using). Stir to coat the vegetables in the remaining oil or butter.
- Add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet, cover, and steam the vegetables for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp and the peppers are softened.
4. **Combine and Finish**:
- Return the kielbasa to the skillet and mix everything together. Let it cook for another 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
- Sprinkle the poppy seeds evenly over the dish and toss gently to incorporate.
5. **Season and Serve**:
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve warm, either as a main dish or accompanied by crusty bread or roasted potatoes.
