Honey Soy Sauce Chicken Thighs (Air Fryer Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 4-6 bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Sauce

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce:

    • Whisk all sauce ingredients in a saucepan.
    • Simmer over medium heat, stirring until thickened (2-3 minutes).
    • Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. Prepare chicken:

    • Pat chicken thighs dry and season with salt and pepper.
    • Brush generously with sauce, including under the skin.
  3. Air fry:

    • Place thighs in air fryer basket, skin side up.
    • Cook at 380°F (193°C) for 16 minutes.
    • Flip, brush with more sauce, cook another 16 minutes.
    • In the last 2-3 minutes, brush with a final layer of sauce.
  4. Serve:

    • Ensure internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
    • Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
