Making donuts from canned biscuits is a quick and easy way to enjoy homemade donuts. Using an air fryer adds a healthier twist by reducing the need for deep frying.
Ingredients
- 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- Cooking spray or oil for spraying
Instructions
Prepare the Donuts
- Open the Can: Start by opening the can of biscuit dough.
- Shape the Donuts: Separate the biscuits and use a small cutter to make a hole in the center of each biscuit, forming a donut shape.
Cook the Donuts
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare for Cooking: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil.
- Place the Donuts: Arrange the biscuits in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
- Cook: Air fry for about 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.
Make Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- Combine Ingredients: In a shallow dish, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
- Coat the Donuts: While the donuts are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.
Serving
- Serve the cinnamon sugar donuts warm for the best taste and texture.
Tips
- Do Not Overcrowd: Cook in batches if necessary to ensure they cook evenly.
- Adjust Cooking Time: Depending on your air fryer model, cooking time may vary slightly.
