Making donuts from canned biscuits is a quick and easy way to enjoy homemade donuts. Using an air fryer adds a healthier twist by reducing the need for deep frying.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • Cooking spray or oil for spraying

Instructions

Prepare the Donuts

  1. Open the Can: Start by opening the can of biscuit dough.
  2. Shape the Donuts: Separate the biscuits and use a small cutter to make a hole in the center of each biscuit, forming a donut shape.

Cook the Donuts

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare for Cooking: Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray or oil.
  3. Place the Donuts: Arrange the biscuits in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they do not touch.
  4. Cook: Air fry for about 5-6 minutes or until they are golden brown. Flip halfway through cooking for even browning.

Make Cinnamon Sugar Coating

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a shallow dish, mix together the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon.
  2. Coat the Donuts: While the donuts are still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until well coated.

Serving

  • Serve the cinnamon sugar donuts warm for the best taste and texture.

Tips

  • Do Not Overcrowd: Cook in batches if necessary to ensure they cook evenly.
  • Adjust Cooking Time: Depending on your air fryer model, cooking time may vary slightly.
